The St. Spyridon Preschool was established
in 1980. It is licensed by the Massachusetts Department
of Early Education and Care and has a highly qualified staff
dedicated to the needs of the students within our care.
Mission and Philosophy:
The mission of the St. Spyridon Preschool is to provide
an integrated preschool curriculum in a warm, safe, nurturing
Christian environment. Through developmentally appropriate
and mulit-sensory learning experiences each child will grow
socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually at
his/her own pace to foster a love of learning and become
independent and responsible members of our society.
The philosophy of the school shall
be to provide a warm accepting environment where each child
may grow as an individual. The school will foster the child's
total development in the areas of social, emotional, intellectual
and physical growth.
The school's primary concern is to
help each child develop a positive self-image, to foster
the development of self-confidence as an individual, as
well as an awareness of others, and to encourage positive
peer relationships and develop a life long love for learning.
The school's objective is to offer
engaging learning tasks and activities that ensure success
as well as appropriate challenges and an introduction to
basic readiness concepts. These areas will include socialization
skills, fine and gross motor coordination, language, math
and science skills as well as auditory and visual activities.
The school will do all this by providing
a supervised, safe and nurturning environment where the
children will be exposed to and involved in a variety of
preschool learning experiences. The emphasis will be to
promote the healthy growth and development of each individual
child.
